Phuket Town Street Art

Phuket, Thailand, is a rain forest, with a mountainous landscape is an island in the Andaman Sea,  My visit here has been a lot more favourable than I had imagined.

Patong is the islands main party town – I left it behind within 30 minutes of arriving. However, I’m sure its a great place if that is your thing. I chose to stay on Kamala Beach. The west of the island has some of Thailand’s most popular, clear water beaches.

I have found some excellent, informative destination information recently on Hotels.com.  The site described Kalama as a quiet atmosphere, relaxed pace and subdued nightlife – that was the place for me. A beautiful beach with many good restaurants to chose from – there isn’t a bar scene here. There is a lot of building (large hotels / villas) going on in town, so I am not sure how long that will last.

The capital of Phuket Province is Phuket City or Town.  The Old Town should not be missed for several reasons, however, look out the street/wall art murals, some of which depict the traditional way of life in Phuket.

I have enjoyed ‘travelling light’ this trip with just my iPhone and iPad.  It is refreshing not lugging around heavy & bulky camera gear and a laptop.

Check out my VLOG to see some of this amazing art.
