The Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum in Manston, England, houses two historic aircraft among their collection – a Supermarine Spitfire Mk XVI and a Hawker Hurricane IIC. The TB 752 is one of the few surviving Spitfires with a wartime record and was fully restored in 1981. The Hurricane’s restoration took place in 1988. In total, the 2 restorations took a massive 37,000 man hours!

I also was treated to taking part in the ’Manston Spitfire Experience’ – a Spitfire Simulator. You use authentic WWII controls, take off, fly and land an Mk XVI Spitfire around the London area whilst sitting in a realistic cockpit. I am pleased to say, I didn’t crash, did get into a spin, but did have lots of help from my instructor Steve!  Check out my flying skills below while travelling with a camera…
