The fields by me are currently a sea of yellow, such a pretty sight and brightness up even a wet day! 

Rapeseed (brassica napus), is also known as rape, oilseed, rapa, rappi or rapaseed. It is a bright yellow flowering member of the brassicacea (mustard or cabbage) family. The name derives from the Latin for turnip.

Brassica napus is mainly grown for its oil rich seeds and is a large source of vegetable oil across the world. It is also used for the production of biodiesel and animal feed.

Be quick if you want to get out and about to take some photographs, as the flowers will now start to die off before the crop is harvested.
