Venice Vlog

Travelling with a camera to Venice this time, north east Italy.  Venice is built in a lagoon on more than 100 small islands in the Adriatic.  The islands are separated by canals and linked by bridges.  Famous landmarks that will spring to mind are Saint Mark’s Square and Basilica, the Rialto Bridge and Doge Palace.

The most famous of the canals being the Grand Canal – ‘Canałasso’ is its Venetian name.  It is one of the major public transport thoroughfares for the city, where water buses, taxis and gondola’s wend their way along with locals and tourists alike.

I have to confess that although Venice was on the ‘to do eventually’ list, it came to the top of the pile sooner than I anticipated.  And I can say is, I am so glad it did!  What an amazing city. Just wandering around the waterways, stopping for a few Cicchetti (small snacks) and a glass of vino is idilic.

Here is a video taster of Venice for you to enjoy the city and hopefully inspire you to visit.
