The Bealach na Bà also know as ‘pass of the cattle’ is a curvy mountainous, 11.4 mile road located on the Applecross peninsula, Wester Ross, Scotland. It was built in 1822.
This twisting, single-track road is the third highest road in Scotland rising up to 2,053 ft above sea level. It’s one of the most scenic drives in the world – but not today!!!
I drove this pass as part of my North Coast 500 road trip. But, unknowingly on this trip, I also drove on; the highest public road in the United Kingdom – the Cairnwell Pass in the Cairngorms at 2198 ft and the Lect at 2113ft & Bealach na Ba at 2053ft – the second highest in Scotland.
Check out my VLOG of the trip over the pass.
