I love it when I arrive in a new city, travelling with a camera, and stumble across awesome street art.  Via Del Pratello can be found within the historic centre of Bologna Italy.

I had been recommend Via Del Pratello for the nightlife scene, where the locals gather, rather than street art.  So, I was captivated when I found these great pieces of art adorning the shop and restaurant shutters.  You bet I was back early the next morning to capture the closed shutters to see more of them and in all their glory!

A quick google and it transpired that an idea was born by a local group to paint the shutters to combat its degradation.  What a fantastic idea, and it certainly has put a new lease of life into the street.

A great place to grab a wine or beer and have dinner with friends on an evening.  But make sure you wander by in the day too to enjoy the street art.  A really busy and buzzy atmosphere, and one you probably wouldn’t stumble across by accident as a tourist.  A great place to visit off the tourist trap prices too.
